Hydram Sheet Metalwork provides welding of stainless steel, mild steel and aluminium products, components and custom precision metal fabrication. Hydram offers automated robotic MIG welding, manual MIG welding, and manual TIG welding, together with comprehensive metal dressing as part of its precision sheet metal fabrication and welding business.
Hydram also provides stud welding, spot welding and projection welding operations. Customers range from heavy-duty off-road vehicle and equipment manufacturers through to bus and coachbuilding, to high tolerances and fine finishes.
With the full range of sheet metalwork processes on site, and with over forty five years of metal fabrication experience, Hydram is ideally suited to provide custom sheet metal fabrications to customers all across the UK and into Europe.
From CNC punch profiling and laser cutting both sheet metal and metal tube, subcomponents are expertly welded into metal fabrications overseen by a qualified welding inspector with non-destructive testing (NDT) facilities on site. Welding jigs and fixtures are manufactured to ensure correct alignment of parts before metal fabrication and welding.
Hydram Sheet Metalwork employs three Panasonic PerformArc robot welding cells to ensure consistency and economy on longer production runs of custom sheet metal fabrications and metal products. All three cells are equipped with electric turntables allowing maximum productivity. The largest system has rotary manipulators allowing workpieces to be turned independently of the robot position.
Maximum welding robot capacity for components is 150kg, 2200mm long for metal fabrication and welding.
Subcontract fabricated metal products supplier Hydram Sheet Metalwork is certified to the ISO 3834-2 Welding Standard, the BS EN 15085-2 CWRVC Welding Standard, and the DIN 6701 standard for adhesive bonding in rail industry.
Hydram is also certified to the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Standard, the ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Standard and has ISO 45001:2018 Health and Safety certification.
Hydram is certified to the following quality standards:
ISO 3834-2:2005 defines comprehensive quality requirements for fusion welding of metallic materials both in workshops and at field installation sites.
Hydram achieved ISO 3834-2 in May 2016.
BS EN 15085-2 CL1 demonstrates a manufacturer’s competence for control of welding quality in production of railway vehicles and components. Certification for Welding of Railway Vehicles and Components (CWRVC) is being increasingly specified by rail industry customers buying components, sub-assemblies and complete vehicles.
Hydram achieved BS EN 15085-2 Class 2 in June 2017, and BS EN 15085-2 Class 1 in August 2018.
