Powder Coating and Wet Painting Sheet Metal Fabrications

Hydram Sheet Metalwork offers powder coating and wet spray painting on steel and aluminium components and metal fabrications on site, using four paint plant facilities.

This large sheet metal fabricator, based in the UK, has three conveyor coating plants for powder coating sheet metal, and a batch processing plant for powder coating or wet spraying larger fabrications, all manufactured on-site.

Two plants are equipped with Gema auto guns, complete with dynamic 3D contour tracking to follow variations in metal fabrication shapes, while the spraying capability is enhanced with fast colour change facility and powder reclaim system.  This investment allows the powder coating process to run as efficiently as possible, reducing powder waste and minimising human input.

Powder Coating and Wet Paint Capacity

Three Conveyor Powder Coating Plants

The three conveyor operated powder coating plants allows larger batches of metal components to be processed efficiently in a full range of colours and finishes.  Components pass through either a three-stage, or five-and-a-half-stage, pre-treatment process to ensure that they are fully degreased and chemically-coated to give excellent paint adhesion and salt-spray corrosion-resistance.

Maximum metalwork component size for conveyor plant:  2.1 metres long, 1.75 metres high and 0.8 metres wide

Batch Paint Plant

The fourth “batch plant” offers batch spraying of wet or powder paint and allows smaller batches and/or larger metal components to be processed.  An autowash pre-treatment system allows  superior paint adhesion for all metal fabrications.

Maximum metalwork component size batch plant:  3 metres long, 1.5 metres high and 1.5 metres wide.
