Sheet metal fabrication company Hydram offers metal profiling as one of many of its subcontract metal fabrication services. Working for a range of manufacturing industries in the UK and Europe, Hydram is one of the UK’s top sheet metal subcontractors. Hydram offers the full range of metal fabrication services from profiling, forming, welding and fabrication, and finishing, from its facility in County Durham.
Hydram ‘s CNC laser cutting service offers a fast, flexible and economical means of metal profiling, whilst CNC punch profiling is a suitable option for metal components manufacture from regular shapes in higher production volumes which sometimes require forming operations.
Laser profiling offers supreme flexibility, handling profiles from the simplest of components to shapes of almost limitless complexity – it is suitable for both pre-production samples and production batches.
CNC sheet metal punching service offers a cost effective precision metal profiling solution – with high speeds and lower operating costs than laser cutting.
Laser cutting metal tube is a highly productive and flexible method of tube processing. Tube lasers can cut hole profiles and end profiles (mitres or cod mouths) on round, square, oval, triangular and other special section metal tubes.
Hydram can laser metal profiles up to 20 mm thick mild steel, “clean cut” up to 12mm thick in stainless steel and 10mm in aluminium, with 3m x 1.5m sheet metal capacity.
CNC punched profiles are available in thicknesses commonly up to 3mm in mild steel and aluminium, with 3m x 1.5m sheet metal capacity.
Tube laser profiles are available in tube thickness up to 6mm wall, with raw tube lengths up to 8.5m long.
All Hydram’s laser profiling and punch profiling machines are equipped with tower storage systems providing automatic loading and unloading of sheet metal. A total of 160 storage locations are available, with 3m x 1.5m capacity shelves, each one with up to 3 tonnes carrying weight. A PLC controller on the towers is integrated with the machines’ control systems to automatically retreive the correct metal in time for the corresponding job.
The laser and punching machines can also handle scrap automatically, to ensure maximum productivity. Hydram’s precision metal profiling services have the capacity to meet your needs.
Both laser and punch profiling uses computer-assisted part nesting to allow maximum material utilisation. Nesting software is driven from a finite-capacity planning system, allowing the creation of fixed blocks (or projects) of work that are then optimised to fit the available materials in stock.
Hydram Sheet Metalwork is one of the largest sheet metal fabrication companies in the UK, founded in 1977, and employing over 200 people in its 135,000 square foot facility in County Durham.
Since then, the sheet metal manufacturer has been supplying metal products, metal components and precision sheet metal fabrication services to a wide range of market leading companies in industry sectors such as rail, public transport, lighting, furniture, earth-moving machinery and white goods.
With customers in so many industries, Hydram has a broad range of experience and expertise to offer, particularly in sheet metal profiling and other subcontract fabrication services, including metal forming and welding.
