For over 40 years Hydram Sheet Metalwork has been a painted metal fabrication supplier to the yellow goods earth-moving machinery, off-highway vehicle sector, providing precision sheet metal and tubular fabrications.
Typical metal products supplied to the yellow goods industry include simple metal brackets and hydraulic hose clamps, fan guards, finger guards, access panels, personnel platforms, handrail assemblies and up to more heavy duty bracket and load-bearing assemblies.
With profiling and forming capabilities up to 3 metres and up to 250 tonnes, robotic MIG welding, manual TIG welding and multiple powder coating facilities available on-site, Hydram is ideally equipped to supply the heavy-duty vehicle market, including off-road equipment, agricultural equipment and earthmoving vehicles, with metal fabrications.
As a trusted supply-chain partner, the fabrications supplier works to electronic schedules supplied by customers, enabling medium-range planning of materials and manufacturing capacity. Finished metal fabrications are then delivered to site daily by one of Hydram’s fleet of delivery vehicles.
Subcontractor Hydram provides painted sheet metal and tubular components for earth-moving machinery to Caterpillar, JCB and Komatsu, that can be found in excavators, backhoe loaders and articulated trucks.
Hydram has dealt with Komatsu for over 40 years and was named “Supplier of the Year” in 2010.
Metal fabrication supplier Hydram provides light to medium sized fabrications from mild steel plate up to 20mm thick, all the way down to small brackets, tubular structures, clamps and CNC machined blocks, providing the capacity for manufacturing metal fabrications for earthmoving vehicles, agricultural equipment and other heavy-duty off-road vehicles and equipment.
Metal profiling capacity is up to 3m x 1.5m in both laser cutting and CNC punching, with pressbrake forming capacity up to 3m wide and 250 tonnes.
Robotic welding capacity is up to 150kg component weight, 2.2m long.
Powder coating is available for parts up to 3m long when manually sprayed, or up to 2.1m long when handled on one of our automated conveyor paint plants.
Volumes range from the low tens for larger fabricated metal subassemblies up to the low thousands for smaller metal components.
Hydram is certified to the following quality standards:
Specialist powder paint and wet paint processes are undertaken to meet the required customer standard, with all fabrications supplied fully painted, with careful removal of laser oxide from laser cut parts where necessary, fully shotblasted after welding, pre-treated, primed and top coat applied to provide high paint adhesion and maximum salt-spray corrosion resistance. Components pass through either a three-stage or five-and-a-half-stage pre-treatment process (depending on fabrication size) to ensure that they are fully degreased and chemically-coated.
