Hydram also emphasises the importance of occupational health and safety, and the environment, and is accredited to both ISO 45001:2018 and ISO 14001:2015 certification respectively. In order to continually meet the requirements of ISO 9001:2015 Hydram operates fully documented Quality Procedures and a Quality Manual. To support these, the company employs a dedicated Quality Team consisting of a Quality Manager, two Quality Engineers and five Quality Technicians, assisted by Project Engineers as required.
Hydram achieved ISO3834-2 in May 2016. ISO3834-2:2005 defines comprehensive quality requirements for fusion welding of metallic materials both in workshops and at field installation sites.
The certification covers the following products: ‘Precision sheet and tubular metalwork, fabrication, powder coating and assembly for a wide range of sectors, including: transport, earthmoving equipment, shop fitting and white goods.’
Hydram is certified to BS EN 15085-2 Class 1, the top level of accreditation for Welding of Railway Vehicles and Components (CWRVC), and is amongst a limited number of class 1 certified companies in the UK. Hydram achieved BS EN 15085-2 Class 2 in June 2017 and BS EN 15085-2 Class 1 in August 2018.
BS EN 15085-2 CL 1 CWRVC demonstrates a manufacturer’s competence for control of welding quality in production of railway vehicles and components.
In December 2018 Hydram became certified to the DIN 6701 standard (Class 2A), the accreditation for the use of adhesive bonding in the manufacture of rail vehicles and parts of rail vehicles. Requirements to comply with this DIN standard include demonstrating proof of officially recognised qualifcations in adhesive bonding, a suitable quality management system, documentation for key bonded joints, suitable workplaces and many others.
Strict legislation demands that organisations show a clear, pro-active commitment towards the health and safety of their employees. The ISO 45001:2018 certification enables Hydram to demonstrate its commitment to occupational health and safety, as well as continuously improving the related management systems.
Led by a dedicated SHE manager the company achieved the ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Standard in 2010 and constantly reviews its progress against environmental performance targets which include pollution prevention, reducing its carbon footprint, minimising use of packaging, and waste segregation within its precision sheet metal fabrication business.
Hydram obtained certification to Cyber Essentials in September 2021 demonstrating its commitment to protecting both its business and customers’ data against cyberattack.
The government backed Cyber Essentials scheme provides independent verification that cyber threats to the business have been understood and appropriate cyber security measures are in place.
