Hydram Sheet Metalwork takes its corporate and social responsibilities for staff welfare, health & safety in the workplace and for protecting the environment very seriously.

Protecting The Environment

Led by a dedicated SHE manager the company achieved the ISO 14001 Environmental Standard in 2010 and constantly reviews its progress against environmental performance targets which include pollution prevention, reducing its carbon footprint, minimising use of packaging, and waste segregation within its precision sheet metal fabrication business.

Environmental Notice:

All products are fabricated from metals.  In 2018, the average carbon dioxide emissions (CO2e) value to produce a typical part was 0.9kg.  This value includes procurement of materials, manufacturing and delivery of the part.  At end of life all products and packaging can be recycled.  If products are not recycled any waste products should be disposed of in accordance with local environmental control regulations.

Health & Safety

ISO 45001:2018

Hydram achieved the ISO 45001:2018 Occupational Health & Safety standard in October 2018 and held the previous BS OHSAS 18001 standard since 2012.  This demonstrates the company’s commitment to occupational health and safety, as well as continuously improving the related management systems.

Community Engagement

As a responsible organisation Hydram strives to have a positive impact in the community by giving something back.  Our relationship with our local community is very important to us and is an essential part in the growth of our business.  Hydram is committed to supplying local employment and creating educational partnerships with our local schools and colleges.  The company provides information, advice and guidance to young people from across the region, in the form of site tours, school talks and extended work placement opportunities, allowing young people from primary to University ages the opportunity to make informed decisions regarding their future with the STEM industries.

Hydram strives to trade with integrity within the marketplace, from its customers to its suppliers.  In making choices around its suppliers, social and environmental criteria are integrated into the vetting process.  Inducements or other improper advantages for personal or financial gain are not offered, given, sought or received, either directly or indirectly.  No employee may offer, give, seek or receive any gift or payment which is, or could be construed as such.  For further information, please see our Bribery and Corruption Policy.  Hydram seeks to be honest and fair in our relationships with our customers, and will provide the standards of products and services that have been agreed; whilst taking all reasonable steps to ensure the safety and quality of the products it produces.
