Hydram Sheet Metalwork’s new Advanced Assembly facility offers a large dedicated area for final assembly of full integrated sheet metal products. With sheet metal and tube processing, from laser cutting through to fabrication and painting, Hydram offers fully assembled metal products such as cabinets, enclosures and complete assemblies from its UK factory in Chilton, County Durham.
Finishing touches such as silk screen printing and product brand labelling are undertaken so that Hydram supplies the finished metal product complete. Metal products are packaged to customers’ requirements ready for delivery to end users. This service allows customers to outsource some of their assembly work, allowing them to free-up space and resources to focus on their core business.
Assembly of metal components manufactured by Hydram, often with additional proprietary parts, is a core competency of the business. After painting on site in one of our three paint plants, many of our products are assembled and/or bonded prior to delivery.
The dedicated advanced assembly area and highly trained operators allow Hydram to undertake a range of assembly functions to provide full integration and customisation of sheet metal fabrications and assemblies. Tasks include fitting component parts including fastenings, castors, hinges, inserts and other modules, such as electrical fit-out.
In December 2018 Hydram became certified to the DIN 6701 standard, the accreditation for the use of adhesive bonding in the manufacture of rail vehicles and parts of rail vehicles. Requirements to comply with this DIN standard include demonstrating proof of officially recognised qualifcations in adhesive bonding, a suitable quality management system, documentation for key bonded joints, suitable workplaces and many others.
