This role is ideal for an individual with solid experience in CNC or metal forming operations who is confident in setting up machines, troubleshooting processes, and supporting other operators.
You will play a key role in maintaining production efficiency, ensuring quality standards are consistently met, and contributing to the smooth running of the department.

Key Responsibilities:
Set up and operate CNC press brake and metal forming machinery to produce precision components.
Configure and adjust tooling, bend allowances, and machine programs for various materials (stainless steel, aluminium, and mild steel).
Verify and approve first-off parts to ensure conformance to engineering drawings and specifications.
Conduct in-process quality checks and oversee quality compliance for other operators within the team.
Support and mentor less experienced operators, providing guidance on safe operation, setup, and quality practices.
Read and interpret complex engineering drawings, work instructions, and technical data.
Identify and resolve production or quality issues promptly to minimise downtime.
Monitor and maintain machine performance and carry out basic maintenance or fault reporting.
Work closely with the Production and Quality teams to ensure all output meets required standards.
Promote and uphold the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency at all times.
Skills/Attributes:
Proven experience in CNC press brake or metal forming operations.
Strong ability to set up, program, and adjust machinery independently.
Excellent understanding of engineering drawings, tolerances, and specifications.
Proficient in the use of precision measuring instruments (verniers, protractors, gauges, etc.).
Quality-focused with a methodical and detail-oriented approach.
Able to lead by example and provide technical support to team members.
Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
Reliable, safety-conscious, and able to work both independently and collaboratively.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications:
Significant experience in a high-volume, precision manufacturing or metal fabrication environment.
Formal engineering or manufacturing qualification preferred (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
Demonstrated capability in CNC machine setup, operation, and quality assurance.
Previous experience in mentoring or supporting junior operators advantageous.
