We are looking for a Pressbrake Operator Trainee to join our metal forming (folding) team at Hydram Engineering Limited.
This hands-on trainee position is ideal for someone practical, reliable, and eager to start a long-term career in engineering.
This is an excellent opportunity to learn how to operate CNC press brake machinery used to fold and form sheet metal components supplied to a wide range of customers – including many world-class blue-chip companies.
Full training and ongoing support will be provided to help you develop your technical skills and progress within the business.
Position Details:
Full-time, permanent position.
Shift work.
Training and development provided.
Applicants must be 18 or over for health and safety reasons.
Key Responsibilities:
Learn to safely operate press brake machines under supervision.
Read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions.
Load and unload sheet metal parts to and from machinery.
Develop multi-fold programs to form parts to specification.
Select correct punches and dies for different materials and radii.
Use dimensional and precision measurement tools.
Maintain a clean and safe work area at all times.

Keen interest in engineering, manufacturing, or metal fabrication.
Willingness to learn and follow instructions carefully.
Basic mathematical ability.

Qualifications:
Experience in a high-volume, fast-paced manufacturing or industrial environment is desirable.
An engineering or manufacturing-related qualification (or interest in working towards one) would be beneficial but not essential.
