We’re looking for a reliable and hardworking Janitor to join our team and help maintain a clean, safe, and well-presented site.
Reporting to site management, you’ll play an important role in ensuring our facilities meet high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety across all areas.
As a Janitor, you’ll support the day-to-day upkeep of the site, helping create a safe and pleasant environment for employees and visitors. Your main responsibilities will include:
• Daily cleaning of common areas, including offices, restrooms, corridors, and break rooms.
• Sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors.
• Dusting and wiping down surfaces such as windowsills, desks, and countertops.
• Emptying general waste and recycling bins, ensuring correct waste disposal practices.
• Carrying out basic grounds maintenance, including emptying outdoor bins and managing recycling.
• Performing minor repairs and simple handyman tasks within capability (e.g. changing light bulbs, fixing small leaks, minor paint touch-ups).
• Assisting with deep cleaning tasks when required, such as carpet cleaning, floor waxing, or window washing.
• Preparing rooms for meetings and supporting cleaning before or after site events.
• Supporting basic maintenance tasks to ensure proper upkeep of the building’s interior and exterior.
• Following site safety and environmental procedures, including the safe use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Reporting any damage, defects, or safety hazards identified during duties.
We’re looking for someone dependable, practical, and detail-focused, with a positive attitude toward maintaining high standards. You’ll ideally have:
• A basic understanding of cleaning products and equipment (preferred but not essential).
• A basic understanding of minor repair work or a willingness to learn simple handyman tasks.
• The physical ability to carry out cleaning duties, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness and hygiene.
• The ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Full-time (38.5 hours per week), typically Monday to Thursday (full days) and a shorter day on Friday. Flexible working patterns can be discussed.
• Hourly rate of £12.71.
• Weekly pay.
• 23 days holiday + 8 bank holidays per year (holiday year runs Jan-Dec).
