An integral part of any Hydram apprenticeship is the opportunity to attend not one, but two residentials in the picturesque North Pennines.
Some apprentices would say it is the highlight of their year! Others prefer to stay indoors… Find out what they get up to on the annual residentials here!
The first year trip is an excellent team building opportunity, designed to bind the apprentice group together. It takes place in October allowing the new apprentice group, who start the program in the September, to work together and develop working relationships. The activities are designed to push apprentices out of their individual comfort zones, encourage them to support each other and overcome personal challenges.
The second year trip is altogether different and is the most challenging of the two residentials. Apprentices are challenged with a range of activities unknown to them until they arrive at the first destination. These activities are designed to strengthen bonds between them to form a productive problem solving group. Second year apprentices are issued nothing more than a kit list and a mission briefing.
